Staying vibrant and energetic is as much about your mindset as it is about the physical condition you’re in.
But have you ever stopped to think what EXACTLY it means to have an attitude or energy of youthfulness?
There are 7 characteristics of a Youthful Mindset. The more you can develop each of these characteristics, the more vibrant, energetic, fulfilled and happy you will feel.
In previous episodes, I’ve shared the first three traits and those are – Optimism, Curiosity and Openness.
Today, I’m sharing trait #4, and that’s Creativity.
I shared in an earlier episode this quote from Sophia Loren. She said, “There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.”
I love how Sophia Loren, clearly a role model for remaining charismatic and vivacious regardless of age, points out the connection...
When a soon-to-be or empty-nest mom decides it’s a great time for her to reinvent or to revive her dreams, finds excitement and fulfillment in one of 4 ways.
She revives her dreams of being…
And sometimes, all of the above.
Today, I’m sharing the Adventurer model of Reinvention.
This model of reinvention, as you might expect, is about adventure and freedom.
Its about finally honoring those exciting and daring travel dreams you’ve been yearning for all these years.
If this is you, you may have been born with this sense of adventure inside of you, and may have dreamed of faraway places as a child.
If this is you, you may even simply enjoy variety in your day-to-day, and perhaps love to try new things – new restaurants, new hobbies, new experiences.
This model of reinvention is all about the Bucket List!
Now that the kids are getting a little older, you lift your head up and look around and find...
Hey, there! Welcome to Episode 17 of Fashionably LATE with Danne Reed.
In the last episode I shared with you Passion Assassins - what they are, how to identify them and how to eliminate them.
In today's episode, I'm sharing my favorite tip for eliminating Passion Assassins, and that is -- creating your Double Secret Agent.
If you can envision a Passion Assassin as a nasty little creature that sneaks up and kills your dreams, then think of your Double Secret Agent as a bad-ass character who eliminates Passionate Assassins before they can kill your dreams.
Ultimately, the Double Secret Agent is you at your very best. It's an archetype, if you will, of your internal authentic spirit, the person that you truly are at your core and the person that it will excite you to become.
Your Double Secret Agent can be deployed for all sorts of figurative missions:
- Eliminating passion assassins.
- It can become your inner coach or your inner cheerleader.
- It can help you make...
My mission is NOT to teach women that success is easy, or obvious, or without risk… I would never.
My mission is to help women rediscover their own genius after realizing that they've lost a little of themselves along the way while they were raising their family and building their career.
I want to change the world by helping midlife women REVIVE their dreams, rather than resign themselves to the thought that it's too late for them to have an impact or to make an income doing what they love.
I help women just like you go from feeling "Where the hell did I go?" to "Welcome back, Gorgeous!"... by helping them remember who they're meant to be.
I help them go from feeling like they missed out on the party of life, to showing up Fashionably Late (which is much better anyway).
This is super important to me because I know firsthand what that struggle is like. To realize that a couple of decades have passed and you somehow never got around to writing that book, or...
Diamonds are formed under intense pressure. So too, are we shaped and forged by "taking the heat", so to speak, of life's experiences. At our core, we're honed and strengthened by overcoming adversity and challenges.
An extraordinary, natural, somewhat violent phenomenon brings diamonds to the earth's surface where they can then be discovered and undergo the process to reveal the beauty inside. Think of your true, authentic self as that "diamond in the rough" fighting its way to the surface. There comes a time in our lives when we say, "Enough's enough". When we realize we're no longer willing to live by others' expectations and we experience a powerful desire to show up in the world as who we really are, regardless of what others will think or say.
For me, and perhaps you can relate, this manifested in my early 40's, in the feeling that something was missing from my life, like I was partially invisible. As if, in a movie about my own life, I'd play a supporting role,...
