Take Back Your Morning!

It’s no secret that highly productive, successful people have morning routines.

When a client is struggling with any area of their life, one of the first things I have them look at is how they start their day.

It doesn’t seem like it would have that much of an impact on a person’s results, but the truth is that, when you’re talking about achieving a goal, it can absolutely be the difference between success and failure.

When I talk about a morning routine, I mean a set of habits that you design and carry out every morning, or at least most mornings, with the intention of directing your day the way you want it to go.

It’s about being intentional with your life.

You know that days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months and months turn into years.

If you aren’t intentional about your days, those seemingly small segments of your life, it is all too easy for them to turn into years where you’re NOT making progress toward what you want,...

Hello, Beautiful! Welcome to Fashionably LATE with Danne Reed.

When a soon-to-be or empty-nest mom decides it’s a great time for her to reinvent or to revive her dreams, she usually finds passion, purpose and fun in one of 4 ways.

She revives her dreams of being…

The Artist model of reinvention is all about: Creativity!

Maybe you enjoyed…

Whether you wanted to do it as a hobby or as a career, odds are you set it aside because it felt frivolous, or self-indulgent, or you truly were too. Dang. Busy.

But here’s what you really need to know…

The 4 Models of Reinvention

Uncategorized Jun 17, 2021

When a woman begins to feel like something’s missing, when she realizes she’s living her own life by someone else’s rules,  when she starts feeling invisible and like her only purpose is to support others’ goals,

She is at a crossroads in her life.

This often happens when she finally lifts her head up and takes a breath after years of crazy-busy child-rearing.

It might hit her when her children start driving, or it might hit her when she’s done getting them settled in at college or their new apartment, or maybe on the day they get married.

But when she reaches this point in her life, she’ll adopt one of two mindsets:

  • One – that her best years and most important accomplishments or contributions are behind her,
  • Or two – that her best years are yet to come and that she still has much to offer and much to accomplish.

The first mindset (that her best years are in the past), leads to resentment, boredom and resignation.

The second...

It's Good to Quit!

Uncategorized Jun 11, 2021

Hi, there!

Welcome to Fashionably LATE with Danne Reed.

It's good to be a Quitter!

I know, crazy thing to say, right?

We have been raised with the phrase "winners never quit and quitters never win". The idea that it's good to be a quitter goes against everything that we've been taught to believe, everything that we grew up knowing about success.

In an earlier podcast episode, I shared how these types of cliches can have a double edge to them, and I'm going to prove to you how this one is no exception.

I will bet money that there are things in your life right now that you need to quit.

For example,

- Did you say yes to something once upon a time and now wish you could extract yourself from the obligation?

- Do you have habits or routines that once started out as helpful, but now you're just going through the motions?

- Do you have brand loyalties that are simply there because it's what you've always done or what you've always used, and you just haven't thought about updating them?

-...

Your Own Survivor Series!

Hello, Beautiful!

The other day, I was listening to a podcast by Brendon Burchard and he was talking about relationships. One thing he said really caught my attention, and that was that we should all remember that our partner is a trauma survivor -- that each of us is in some way, a trauma survivor.

In the past couple of episodes, I've talked about Passion Assassins and how to counteract them. What Brendon shared about each of us being a survivor of trauma strikes me as being another way to counteract Passionate Assassins. Counteracting Passion Assassins is all about rewriting the stories that we have told ourselves based on our past mistakes, and creating a new internal identity.

Rather than feeling like you've been damaged or diminished in some way by the challenges that life has thrown at you (and by "diminished", I mean if it has made you feel smaller emotionally, mentally, spiritually), what if we could take those challenges and write a story based on us as a fighter, a...

Double Secret Agents

Hey, there! Welcome to Episode 17 of Fashionably LATE with Danne Reed.

In the last episode I shared with you Passion Assassins - what they are, how to identify them and how to eliminate them.

In today's episode, I'm sharing my favorite tip for eliminating Passion Assassins, and that is -- creating your Double Secret Agent.

If you can envision a Passion Assassin as a nasty little creature that sneaks up and kills your dreams, then think of your Double Secret Agent as a bad-ass character who eliminates Passionate Assassins before they can kill your dreams.

Ultimately, the Double Secret Agent is you at your very best. It's an archetype, if you will, of your internal authentic spirit, the person that you truly are at your core and the person that it will excite you to become.

Your Double Secret Agent can be deployed for all sorts of figurative missions:

- Eliminating passion assassins.

- It can become your inner coach or your inner cheerleader.

- It can help you make...

Passion Assassins

Uncategorized Jun 03, 2021

Hello, Beautiful! Welcome to Fashionably LATE with Danne Reed!

In this episode, I am going to share with you my thoughts on Passion Assassins - what they are, how to identify them and how to eliminate them.

Passion Assassins are limiting beliefs, but with a twist. I find that in order to disconnect the negative beliefs that I have from who I truly am, it is easier to envision them as creatures. As little monsters or assassins that are internal in my brain or in my subconscious. They sneak up on me and steal my dreams without me even being aware of them. So I coined the term Passion Assassin because I really believe that that's what they do. These beliefs that we have embedded in our psyche sneak up on us and kill our dreams, kill our best life, kill our best self.

Many coaches talk about limiting beliefs. But I found that few of them talk about how to identify what they are. Many coaches and thought leaders that I found when I first started my personal growth journey, talked about...
